Well, I suppose that George Valentin has a point when he tells this to Peppy Miller before placing a fake beauty mark on her cheek.
You could easily replace "actress" with "blogger", though for our purposes and it would still be just as true.
It's very difficult to stand out of the blogging crowd these days, to make people come back to read your blog and to actually make them (that is YOU!) feel surprised, understood or simply taken seriously.
Of course it's always hard to be original 100% of the time, but instead of copying each other, I think we bloggers should simply accept the fact that other bloggers do inspire our style a lot and that we can't always come up with all of our outfit ideas by ourselves.
The important thing is to add your own ideas to an already existing idea, to take it to the next level and to create new and unique things with it!
My inspiration for this look has two roots: for one, the beautiful and incredibly inspiring Louise Ebel of the fashion and art blog Pandora! She wears these 1920s outfits like no other - indeed she breathes vintage and especially the golden age in almost all of her outfits! I couldn't help but feel inspired by her when putting together this 2012 NYE outfit of mine.
And secondly, the above mentioned film "The Artist", one of my personal favourites of this year, where the main actress wears all these wonderful sparkling flapper dresses all the time.
And let me tell you, when I put these kind of clothes on, I don't feel dressed up otherwise I wouldn't wear it. I feel at home in it and man, I can't wait until I can go tapdancing again!!!
Wenn ich mir das Zitat unter dem ersten Bild so durchlese, denke ich, dass George Valentin wahrscheinlich Recht hat, als er Peppy Miller das erzählt und ihr gleichzeitig einen Schönheitsfleck auf die Wange malt.
Man könnte für unsere Zwecke das Wort "actress" auch genau so gut mit "Blogger" ersetzen und es hätte noch genau die gleiche Gültigkeit.
Es ist schwierig, heutzutage aus der großen Masse an Bloggern noch herauszustechen, es zu schaffen, dass die Leser bleiben und dass genau diese Leser (also IHR!) noch überrascht sind, sich verstanden oder einfach ernst genommen fühlen.
Natürlich ist es schwer, immer 100% der Zeit originell zu sein, aber anstatt ständig nur voneinander zu kopieren, sollten wir Blogger lieber einfach akzeptieren, dass wir, unter Anderem, sehr wohl von anderen Bloggern inspiriert werden. Man kann nicht auf jede Outfitidee "einfach so" kommen, das geht nicht.
Das Wichtige ist hingegen, dass man seine eigenen Ideen zu den bereits existierenden hinzugibt, das ganze auf eine neue Ebene trägt und damit neue, einzigartige Dinge schafft.
Meine Inspiration für diesen Look ist zweierlei Ursprungs: einmal hat mich hierzu die wunderbare Louise Ebel vom Fashion-und Kunstblog Pandora inspiriert, die diese 1920er Kleider wie keine Andere trägt. Sie atmet förmlich Vintage und besonders das goldene Zeitalter in fast jedem ihrer Outfits. Als ich mein Silvesteroutfit zusammenstellte, musste ich mich also einfach von ihr inspiriert fühlen.
Dazu kommt als zweite Inspirationsquelle der oben schon genannte Film "The Artist", einer meiner persönlichen Lieblingsfilme des Jahres. Die Hauptdarstellerin trägt die ganze Zeit solch wundervoll funkelnde Flapperkleider.
Und lasst euch noch sagen, ich fühle mich überhaupt nicht verkleidet in dieser Art von Kleidung - sonst würde ich sie nicht tragen! Und ich kann es kaum abwarten, nächstes Jahr wieder steppen zu gehen!!!
