The second part of my Halloween-Series this year offers some photography rather than styling inspiration, even though the outfit could well be worn at a Halloween-Party, I'm sure of that (and yeah, no fake blood or teeth in this look, either!)
So this is my personal take on the whole Galaxy trend thing that's been going on in the fashion world for over a year now. In this series of pictures, I am the Universe, the Queen of the Worlds, wohoo! Or perhaps just one of the Q-Continuum (if you are a Trekkie like myself, you know what I speak of!)
So now you know how the Universe looks like, you can take a deep breath for finally understanding it all... except perhaps why the answer is 42 (again, if you've read Douglas Adams, you know what I mean!)
Der zweite Teil meiner Halloween-Serie soll eher fotografisch als stylingtechnisch inspirieren, obwohl man das Outfit sicher auch bei einer Halloween-Party tragen könnte, da bin ich sicher (und jahaa, schon wieder kein Fake-Blut oder Vampirzähne!)
Dies ist also mein ganz eigenes Herangehen an den nicht totzukriegenden Galaxy-Trend. In dieser Fotoserie bin ich das Universum, die Königin der Welten, wohoo! Oder vielleicht bin ich auch einfach eine vom Q-Kontinuum (wenn ihr Trekkies seid, so wie ich, wisst ihr, wovon ich spreche!)
Und da ihr jetzt wisst, wie das Universum aussieht, könnt ihr einmal tief durchatmen, da ihr jetzt alles versteht... außer vielleicht, warum die Antwort auf alles 42 ist (und wieder: wer Douglas Adams gelesen hat, weiß, was meine Andeutung hier sollte!)
Since some of you told me that they would probably enjoy listening to some of my own songs, I decided to open a new category where every once in a while, I'll present you one of my songs in video format.
I've been playing guitar since forever but never learnt how to play melodies, only chords, so when I write songs, I just build it up on the chords that come to mind by accident. The texts have various different influences so I wanted to accompany each video with a little story of how it came to life. Enjoy!!
About "Dream Holiday" - or how this song came to life:
This past July, I was visiting my family in Hanover with a twisted ankle in order to relax and recover.
I was bored on the train, didn't feel like reading or listening to music and definitely not like playing "Cut The Rope", so I opened my notepad and wrote down a few words that came to mind. When I turned to cast a look out of the window (who knew, an idea might have been waiting outside), all I could see was the most stunning view in a long time: an ocean of sunflowers spreading as far as I could see. Together with the clear blue sky and only a couple of friendly clouds in the air, the first verse of the song was as good as finished.
But since I'm not someone who writes abstract songs about landscapes, it turned into something completely else as you might have noticed while listening. It's mainly about a girl who has a crush on someone who doesn't even know she exists and probably will never find out. But the song isn't so sad, it's kind of uplifting and has a generally positive attitude towards life - just like myself.

Da einige von euch meinten, sie würden gerne einige meiner eigenen Songs einmal anhören, habe ich mich dazu entschieden, eine neue Kategorie zu eröffnen. Immer mal wieder möchte ich euch so einige meiner Lieder in Videoform darbieten.
Ich spiele schon seit gefühlten 100 Jahren Gitarre, habe aber nie gelernt, Melodien zu spielen (geschweige denn, Noten zu lesen!). Wenn ich also ein Lied schreibe, baue ich dies meist um eine zufällige Anordnung an Griffen herum, die mir gut gefallen. Die Texte haben ganz verschiedene Einflüsse, deshalb dachte ich mir, ich lasse immer eine kleine Hintergrundgeschichte das Musikvideo begleiten. Viel Spaß!!
Über "Dream Holiday" - oder wie dieser Song das Licht der Welt erblickte:
Diesen Juli habe ich meine Eltern in Hannover besucht, um einen Kapselriss im Knöchel auszukurieren und mich zu erholen.
Im Zug war mir langweilig. Ich wollte nicht lesen oder Musik anhören und schon gar nicht wollte ich "Cut The Rope" spielen, also öffnete ich mein Notizbuch, um einige Wortfetzen hineinzuschreiben. Als ich mich umdrehte um einen Blick aus dem Fenster zu werfen (hätte ja eine Idee draußen auf mich warten können), war das Einzige, was ich sehen konnte, einer der beeindruckendsten Ausblicke seit langem: ein Meer von Sonnenblumen unter einem dunkelblauen Himmel, der nur von wenigen Wolken durchzogen war. Die erste Strophe war nun schon so gut wie fertig.
Da ich aber nicht die Art von Songwriter bin, die auf so einer abstrakten Ebene über Landschaften schreibt, hat sich das Lied in eine ganz andere Richtung entwickelt, wie ihr vielleicht schon beim Hören herausgefunden habt. Es geht hauptsächlich um ein Mädchen, die in jemanden verliebt ist, der nichtmal weiß, dass sie existiert und es höchstwahrscheinlich auch nie wird. Aber es ist kein trauriges Lied sondern verbreitet mit Tempo und Melodie eher eine positive Atmosphäre und glaubt an das Gute im Leben - so wie ich auch.

Not too long ago, a couple of German fashion bloggers including Linda, Franzi, Masha, Marie and YouTube blogger daaruum as well as myself were invited to Hamburg for a really fun event organized by MyHudson and it was all about coloured tights all day long!
The people were incredibly lovely, the tights super nice, great quality, great colours but quite challenging to style since I don't own any coloured tights myself! But have a look at the pictures of the shooting and judge for yourself if I succeeded.
Do you love or do you hate coloured tights? How would you wear them? I'd really love to know because I found it really difficult to style them even if it was great fun! Vor nicht allzu langer Zeit wurden einige deutsche Modeblogger, darunter Linda, Franzi, Masha, Marie und YouTube Bloggerin daaruum sowie natürlich meine Wenigkeit, nach Hamburg zu einem ganz großartigen Event von MyHudson eingeladen. Natürlich ging es um bunte Strumpfhosen und zwar den ganzen Tag lang!
Alle waren unglaublich lieb an diesem Tag, die Strumpfhosen waren auch echt super, hatten eine großartige Qualität, tolle Farben und trotzdem war es ganz schön schwer, sie in Outfits zu stylen, da ich ja selbst überhaupt keine bunten Strumpfhosen besitze. Hab ich's trotzdem gut hinbekommen? Was meint ihr?
Findet ihr bunte Strumpfhosen super oder super schrecklich? Wie würdet ihr sie tragen? Das interessiert mich echt, denn ich fand es wirklich schwierig, sie zu kombinieren obwohl es total Spaß gemacht hat! In this outfit, I'm wearing some amazing blue studded shorts and a beautiful white sequin collar blouse - both from the shop O'MIGHTY Don't be alarmed when you click on the link and visit their page - it's complete madness! The look of this shop might be shocking for some, but the concept is new and cool and really appeals to me. They have both vintage clothes and their own line and in both ranges you can find anything you can ever dream of when it comes to clothes! You should really check them out!!! Lustig, der Titel ist aus der ersten Zeile eines Songs, den ich vor einigen Monaten geschrieben habe und er passt irgendwie perfekt zum Outfit!
Hättet ihr Interesse daran, ein paar meiner Songs anzuhören? Interessiert euch das? Ich weiß halt nicht, ob es so gut in einen Modeblog passt, aber es ist ja irgendwie ein Teil von mir, nicht wahr?
In diesem Outfit habe ich eine großartige blaue Shorts mit Nieten und eine hübsche weiße Bluse mit Paillettenkragen, beides aus dem Shop O'MIGHTY kombiniert. Der Laden ist absolut abgefahren, also wundert euch nicht, wenn ihr auf den Link klickt. Das Konzept ist vielleicht für manche etwas schockierend, aber ich finde es sehr lustig, neu und cool. Es gibt dort Vintage-Kleidung und auch eine eigene Kollektion, da bleibt für mich jedenfalls kaum ein Wunsch offen! Schaut es euch einmal an!! Und? Wie gefällt euch das Outfit?
Yesterday, I received this miraculous but very pretty box in the mail. It only says "REVOLUTION CAN BE COOL" on the box. "Hmmmm..." I thought, "what could that mean and WHAT THE HECK IS INSIDE THIS LITTLE BLACK BOX????"

Gestern entdeckte ich diese merkwürdige, aber doch sehr hübsche Box in der Post und es stand einfach nur "REVOLUTION CAN BE COOL" drauf. "Hmmmmm..." dachte ich mir, "was könnte das wohl bedeuten und WAS ZUM GEIER IST DA IN DIESER KLEINEN SCHWARZEN KISTE DRIN????"

Last Saturday, the KaDeWe, Berlin's largest department store for luxury goods invited their guests to a wonderful Halloween-themed dinner party. The whole fine foods floor was open for dining, meeting people and dancing to various live music acts. I truly enjoyed the atmosphere and hope I could capture some of it for you in my pictures. Enjoy!
Letzten Samstag lud das KaDeWe in Berlin zum alljährlichen Halloween-dinner. Die gesamte Feinschmecker-Etage wurde zum Schlemmen, Leute treffen und Tanzen zu verschiedener Livemusik geöffnet. Ich habe die Stimmung dort sehr genossen und hoffe, ich konnte ein wenig davon für euch in meinen Bildern festhalten. Viel Spaß!
