Oh dear oh dear, you just wouldn't believe what I found while spending this rainy afternoon cleaning up my folders on my MacBook. A bunch of pictures the lovely Jasmin took of me while we were in Barcelona more than 2 months ago! Crazy how time flies, really. And actually, I have no idea how they got lost in the depth of a forest of folders, but hey, here they are.
I was wearing a yellow Zara jumper that day and it's hard to believe, but back then, that was absolutely appropriate for the weather conditions. I really like this knitted piece, especially since I've quite learned to love the colour yellow. It's never been a colour I'd considered before, but since this year, I really like it! Together with some black and gold, it makes a really good match, don't you think?
Oh and do check out this song, I play Mumford & Sons' songs on the guitar all the time and they'll have a new album out soon!
And in case you did notice, the header is a weeeee bit different again. Do you approve? I think it freshens things up a bit.
The big thing that is happening in the UK's capital right now is the London Collections: Men which is taking place this weekend. Being a nutter for anything British, this and the following women's collections are a must visit for me. It's always nice to see what the designers have been up to and especially watching the developments in men's fashion is always really very interesting because personally, I think it never gets any better than a nicely tailored suit for any man. But then I'm always positively surprised that when it comes down to it, basically, anything goes!
Here are some of my personal favourites so far.
Keep on reading to find out why and do comment and tell me which ones you like best!! Would you dress your boyfriend in any of this??
Lou Dalton S/S 2013 Men: Basically, I think it's a wonderful collection. The colours are a bit autumn-y for a S/S collection, but I just love burgundy, so no harm done! The tailoring is beautifully done and it all just fits together. This is what I would dress a boyfriend in any day!
Mr Start S/S 2013: Bright, clean, clear silhouettes - I like! The white blazer with the golden buttons is my favourite. Also, even though I think it's tricky, some men really can pull off pink. Some can't of course, but then there's the lovely and shiny marine blue suit for you.
Spencer Hart S/S 2013 Men: Every man should own a perfectly tailored suit. I've been a big fan of Spencer Hart for ages and in my opinion, he does it best! I like the swag and the Don Draper vibe to the suits - it's just sexy! I wish I were a man to wear these great suits as well - oh wait, look at the girl: I can!
Xander Zhou S/S 2013 Men went for a much more opulent and pompous 80s kind of fabric overload! I can't say I disapprove! This is rather art than anything else, even though the more daring kind of man might be able to pull this off! I would like to see this as street style somewhere!
E. Tautz S/S 2013 Men: Just for the coats and the colours, I'll have to include this designer. Brilliant, loved it! Love the colours and the cuts. Knights in shiny fabric much? Yeah, pretty cool. Not so cool is the pink baby girl's hat. But that's okay, cause the coats are cool!
Oliver Spencer S/S 2013 Men: Khaki, brown, beige and grey + bright and shiny colours = perfect combination! That was math my dearies, yes! I like this so much, kind of cool 90s "hey let's go on a Safari but afterwards let's have dinner in Soho" looks. Me gusta!
Agi & Sam S/S 2012 Men: Just for the pastel and print overload, this is love, in a very weird "oops, I'm still in my nightie!" kind of way! Definitely an eye-catcher (and so are the models, don't you think? Awesome!)
Dear readers, hey, it’s summer! Well, depending on your current whereabouts, it might be a rainy English summer or a blazing hot Mediterranean one. But no matter where you are, Lancaster finally gives us all the chance to dare stepping out into the sun without having to be afraid of all the dangers, anymore. Of course you still shouldn’t overdo it, but using the new Lancaster suncare range really makes me feel a little safer out there in the sun. If you get the chance, do try these products, they are simply amazing!
To celebrate the sun and the summer, II thought I’d put together a little inspiration post on all things sunny (they will be published on a sunny Lancaster Tumblr blog which you can find HERE) and I really hope you feel a little warmer on the inside now, as well!
And on top of that, I give you my own personal MANIFESTO TO THE SUN and you, dear readers are very welcome to post your own manifesto on the Lancaster Tumblr blog. That would be really cool, looking forward to reading yours!
Occupation: Teaching and blogging – one at a time!
What’s the sun for you?
It’s pure bliss! Living in Berlin, I’ve already experienced extremely harsh and brutally cold winters, but as soon as the sun comes out in spring, it all comes back to life! Not being much of a beach girl myself (there’s not much beach around here) I simply enjoy the sun on my face while relaxing in the park as often as possible. However, when it’s really really hot, I love going to the lake!
Your relationship with the sun?
We’re really quite good friends, although my skin is very sensitive and delicate, so the Lancaster Sun products are perfect for me. I love you, sun!
Your most daring sunny moment?
I tend to fall asleep while lying in the sun. After a couple of hours, that can make you feel quite dizzy. A pretty straw hat and a big bottle of water do help, though.
Doesn’t look too good judging by the weather forecast. Rain, rain and clouds all week. Hopefully, the sun will be back soon, though.
Now then, let’s stop the banter and step out into the sun!! Enjoy the pictures and “Dare to Tan”!
The amazing Lancaster products:
1) Bronzing Beauty Adjustable Tan Glow Moisturizing Emulsion
2) Sun Beauty Satin Sheen Oil Fast Tan Optimizer
3) Sun Delicate Skin Soothing Cream (Just perfect for my skin!!!)
Hi again, it's me blogging from my couch to which I am confined for yet another 2 weeks! I'd never have believed that twisting your ankle could turn into such a big fat pain in the arse... anyway, since I can't walk right now (except the five steps to my fridge and the bathroom) I'll provide you with some oldish (well, not really but well from before the walking ban) pictures.
I am sporting a really cool leather sleeve blouse and a pair of Happy Monday jeans that I found over at Sojeans. They have quite a great collection of denims, so if you're looking for a pair right now, especially my German readers, you should hop over there and have a look.
Oh and I just want to say thank you all for your lovely comments all the time! I'll try to get back to all of them as soon as possible! You beauties rule my blogworld!!!
